Which course
do you need?

Choose the Basic RiderCourse if you want to learn on a 2-wheel motorcycle. Choose the 3-Wheel RiderCourse if you plan to operate a 3-wheel motorcycle. Contact the academy if you are unsure which course fits your goals.

Yes. The Basic RiderCourse is designed for new riders, including those with little or no previous motorcycle experience.

The course is designed for new and returning riders who want to learn the handling, steering, and control of a 3-wheel motorcycle.

The Basic RiderCourse focuses on 2-wheel motorcycles. The 3-Wheel RiderCourse focuses specifically on 3-wheel motorcycles and leads toward a 3-wheel-only endorsement restriction.

Private instruction may be available for riders seeking focused, one-on-one support. Availability, motorcycle requirements, lesson length, and pricing must be confirmed with the academy.

Private instruction should not be assumed to replace a required endorsement course. Riders seeking a Florida motorcycle endorsement should complete the appropriate approved RiderCourse.

Come prepared

What to know
before you arrive.

Course enrollment requirements and licensing requirements are not always the same. Review the current registration details or contact the academy before booking if you do not hold a Florida driver license.

Motorcycle availability depends on the selected course or lesson. Review the registration information to confirm whether a training motorcycle is provided and whether a personal motorcycle is permitted.

Required gear generally includes an approved motorcycle helmet, eye protection, full-finger gloves, long sleeves, durable long pants, and over-the-ankle footwear. Your booking confirmation will contain the final checklist.

Wear clothing that meets the course requirements and allows comfortable movement. Do not arrive in shorts, short sleeves, open-toe shoes, or other clothing that does not provide the required coverage.

Bring the identification and registration documents listed in your confirmation, along with water, weather-appropriate layers, and any personal medication you may need.

Age and eligibility requirements depend on the selected course and licensing pathway. Review the current registration requirements before booking. Florida Motorcycle Only license applicants must be at least 16 years old.

Some courses may include required preparation before the in-person training. Complete every item listed in your registration confirmation before arriving.

After the course

How training fits
the Florida process.

Florida requires a motorcycle endorsement or Motorcycle Only license to operate covered motorcycles on public roads. Confirm how the law applies to the specific vehicle you plan to operate.

Successfully completing the appropriate approved RiderCourse satisfies the motorcycle training portion of Florida’s endorsement process.

No. After passing, the rider must visit a Florida driver license or participating tax collector office, provide the required identification, pay the applicable fees, and have the endorsement added.

No. A course completion card or electronic completion record is not a motorcycle endorsement and does not authorize the rider to operate a motorcycle on public roads.

Florida requires riders to have the endorsement added within one year of successfully completing the course. After that period, the course completion status becomes invalid and the RiderCourse must be completed again.

No. Completing the 3-Wheel RiderCourse results in an “S” restriction that limits the rider to operating 3-wheel motorcycles.

Choose the appropriate 2-wheel Basic RiderCourse pathway. Contact the academy before registering if you are unsure which endorsement best matches your plans.

A Motorcycle Only license is available to eligible individuals who do not hold a regular Class E driver license. It authorizes motorcycle operation but does not include driving privileges for other vehicle classes.

Visit a Florida driver license office or participating tax collector office that processes driver license transactions. Confirm the location’s document requirements and appointment availability before visiting.
